Description
Ganoderma lucidum is a brownish-red-colored species of Ganoderma found in the wild in Europe and China, where it grows on decaying wood, and wildly cultivated in Asia and North America. It’s commonly known as reishi.
Reishi is a medicinal mushroom with a long and well documented history in traditional oriental medical practices. Other than its proteic content, the active ingredients of Ganoderma are Polysaccharides β-glucans and hetero-β-glucans, popular immunostimulating molecules used for food supplements.
